Briscola
How to play
The Italian classic, played with a 40-card deck — the 8, 9 and 10 are dropped. Card points: Ace 11, Three 10, King 4, Queen 3, Jack 2 (120 in the deck), and trick power follows the same odd order: A, 3, K, Q, J, 7, 6, 5, 4, 2.
Everyone gets 3 cards and the next card is turned face-up under the stock — its suit is trump (la briscola) and the turned card is drawn last. There is NO obligation to follow suit: play any card.
The highest trump wins the trick, or the highest card of the suit led if no trump was played; the winner takes the trick's points, everyone draws a card (winner first), and the winner leads.
When the last card is played, the side with the majority of the points wins (61+ guarantees it; 60-60 is a draw).
Two players duel head-to-head, four play in fixed partnerships (you and the player across), and a table of three removes one 2 from the deck and plays everyone for themselves.
